Elk Room Lounge Manager

The Osthoff Resort is looking for an experienced Manager to coordinate, supervise, train and direct the daily operations of The Elk Room Lounge.  Duties include the management of our lounge as well as overseeing and coordinating the central beverage control of the resort.  This position will be responsible for the operations of the bar, lounge, and coffee house as well as the staffing, training, ordering, inventory management, labor and cost control.  A high level of organization, excellent communication skills, strong customer service skills, and a comprehensive understanding of beverage service is necessary.

Essential managerial qualifications include the ability to control expenses, forecast, and drive revenue in a systematic way while providing consistent effort and clear records for future improvements.  The successful individual will be a highly skilled trainer of service technique and guest facing customer service skills. Our ideal manager will possess the ability to eagerly address any and all employee or guest issues in a calm and positive manner. An ability to build relationships with guests, both internal and external, for the purpose of establishing a clientele base is a necessary function of this role.

 

Night Manager

The Osthoff Resort is seeking an experienced customer service individual for the Night Manager Position.  The Night Manager is a Full-Time, salaried, and benefited position within our Rooms Division and reports to the Front Office Manager as well as the Rooms Division Director.  Responsibilities include the operation of Front Desk, Reservations, Bell Attendant, Security and Night Audit.  This includes coverage of shifts, training, coaching, and completion of reports.  The successful candidate must have at least one year of experience in the supervising of resort/hotel personnel.  Additionally, the ideal candidate should have exceptionally strong customer service skills and have the ability to be creative and take initiative concerning Rooms Division policy and procedures.  Experience with Front Office software would be beneficial.

The ideal candidate should be able to multi-task and possess self-motivation, as well as work well with others within a team playing environment.  Qualified candidates must have a professional demeanor and exceptional guest service abilities in addition to strong Leadership skills.   This position spans second shift and the ideal candidate will offer a flexible weeknight and weekend availability.

 

Bartender

The Osthoff Resort is currently seeking experienced bartenders for our Lounge, Banquet, Otto’s, and the Lake Deck areas.  Our bartenders are responsible for providing excellent beverage service to our guests while fostering a relaxing and entertaining atmosphere.

This position can require standing, running, walking, sitting, reaching outward and/or above the shoulder.  Additionally, the ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs and push/pull up to 100lbs exists as well as the occasional need to squat, kneel, climb, and bend.  Bartenders work within a team environment at the Osthoff Resort and must also possess the ability to work without direct supervision.

Qualified candidates for this position should have prior bartending experience and excellent knowledge of wines and wine service, beer and mixed drinks.  Applicants should also have exceptional customer service skills, an outgoing personality, and have the ability to obtain a license to serve alcohol.

 

Night Audit

As a Guest Service Representative, the part time Night Auditor is responsible for providing AAA Four-Diamond service.  Responsibilities include balancing daily postings, preparation for the next business day, and assisting guests as necessary which includes checking guests in and out of the resort, This is an overnight third shift Front Desk position occurring from11:00 PM to 7:00 am, approximately 16-20 hours per week.   Availability needs encompass both weekday and/or weekend availability.  The ideal candidate will possess excellent hospitality skills in addition to very strong customer service skills.  Strong written and verbal communication skills, in addition to computer literacy skills, are essential job functions.  Previous experience with RDP is a plus. Multiple task handling, a positive and efficient mindset, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are necessary core requirements of this position.  Must be willing to adhere to all AAA guidelines regarding personal hygiene, dress, and appearance.

The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and sit for a period of up to eight hours in addition to occasional reaching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and bending.  Lifting requirements include the ability to lift 10 to 50 pounds.

 

Full Time Night Audit

The Osthoff Resort is currently seeking a Guest Service Representative for our full time Night Auditor position.  The Night Auditor is responsible for providing AAA Four-Diamond service.  Responsibilities include balancing daily postings, preparation for the next business day, and assisting guests as necessary. This is an overnight third shift Front Desk position occurring from 11:00p.m. to 7:00a.m., approximately 40 hours per week.  The position includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.  Availability needs encompass both weekday and/or weekends.  The ideal candidate will possess excellent hospitality skills in addition to very strong customer service skills.  Strong written and verbal communication skills, in addition to computer literacy skills, are essential job functions.  Previous experience with RDP is a plus. Multiple task handling, a positive and efficient mindset, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are necessary core requirements of this position.  The successful candidate must be willing to adhere to all AAA guidelines regarding personal hygiene, dress, and appearance.

The Osthoff Resort is seeking friendly, efficient, detail-oriented, and guest focused individuals to join our team as a Room Attendant/ Housekeeper. The Osthoff Resort’s Housekeeping standards, which include delivering a high level of cleanliness within guest rooms in accordance to the expectations of management and AAA Four Diamond Standards, are essential functions of this position.

 This position requires the associate to be on his or her feet for up to 8 hours each day and involves bending, lifting up to 30 pounds, ascending and descending stairs, and kneeling.  This is a part time position, and the ideal candidate should be able to multi-task and work with others as well as independently within a fast-paced environment.  Both weekday and weekend day availability is required.

 

Retail Associate

The Osthoff Resort is now hiring a part-time, friendly, customer-service oriented Team Player for The Osthoff Resort gift shop. Our gift shop provides very unique offerings including an eclectic blend of decadent treats, beautiful keepsakes, and tasteful accessories for both home and self.  Primary responsibilities include assisting guests, operating the cash register, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked store for weekday and weekend shifts.  A flair for design, display, and creative presentation is helpful.

Prior retail, cash handling and point-of-sale experience is preferred but not required.  Basic math skills are also necessary.  This position also requires the associate to bend, reach, stand for up to 8 hours, and lift up to 25 pounds.  A friendly and outgoing personality is truly ideal for this position, as guest interaction is an important part of the required job duties.

 

Cosmetology position

Aspira Spa, located at The Osthoff Resort, is currently seeking an experienced Cosmetologist with an exceptional focus on guest services.  Our ideal candidate would present a background that includes the ability to both work and thrive within a team environment atmosphere. This position requires someone that is eager, highly motivated, and excited for an opportunity to expand their business.  We offer salon services which include haircuts, color treatments, styling services, manicures, and pedicures that are all designed to provide a customized service for that truly fantastic guest experience. 

We strive to provide an environment that promotes positive and friendly guest relations.  A comfort level with selling salon products and promoting spa services is an essential function of this position along with the ability to assist with maintaining overall spa appointment scheduling. 

Qualified candidates must be currently licensed by the State of Wisconsin's Cosmetology Board, have a professional demeanor and exceptional customer service skills.  This job requires the individual to stand, walk, bend, reach forward, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Availability needs require the ability to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.  The Cosmetology position offers a base wage as well as a commission percentage on services and retail sales.

 

Night Runner

The Osthoff Resort is seeking a efficient, detail oriented, and customer focused individual to join our team as a Night Runner.

The Night Runner position works within the Housekeeping department between the hours of 4 PM - Midnight.  Position performs general cleaning duties in the public areas of the resort, as well as public restrooms.  The Night Runner also provides housekeeping assistance to guest suites when requested.  In addition, this position stocks, maintains, and prepares the Housekeeping department for following day.

The ideal candidate should be able to multi-task, be self motivated, and work well with others as well as work independently. Candidate must have a professional demeanor and exceptional customer service skills.  We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule and weekend availability. This job requires the individual to stand, walk, bend, reach forward and over the shoulder, kneel, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Summer Pleasure’s Program-Children’s Activities Staff

The Osthoff Resort is looking for individuals to fill its seasonal Children’s Activities Staff. The ideal candidate will love and enjoy working with children of all ages.  Coordinating and planning fun activities and resort adventures such as fishing, cooking, arts and crafts, bonfires, and indoor and outdoor game playing.  The Osthoff Resort’s Pleasures Activities Program offers kids (and their parents) a chance to enjoy the surroundings and traditions of a Wisconsin resort.  “Rafts of Crafts” features activities from nature crafts to seasonal fun (such as Christmas ornament-making).  “Culinary Kids” features “hands on” preparation of pizzas, cookies, and ‘s’mores’.   

This position may require the employee to stand, sit, walk, and run.  Reaching both outward and above one’s shoulder is also necessary in addition to occasional squatting, kneeling, and bending.  The Children’s Activities Staff requires daytime and evening availability Monday through Saturday.  Must obtain a fishing license, possess basic cooking skills, and have the ability to start a bonfire.

The candidate must also be energetic and have the ability to work within a team environment as well as the ability to work independently.  This individual must possess good people skills in order to communicate well with both parents and children alike.  Prior certifications and/or childcare experience are a plus. 

 

Culinary Class Assistant

The Osthoff Resort is seeking a Culinary Class Assistant for our L’ecole de la Maison Cooking School.   The assistant will help guide the efforts of our culinary school Chef before and during the cooking classes, which are held in our state of the art kitchen.   Whether guests elect to participate in a singular delicious workshop as part of their stay, or whether they choose to partake in a five day course in their quest to learn the skills of the home chef of today, our cooking school provides an instruction to the preparation of French cuisine.  Duties also include the general responsibilities of prep work, set up, organization, and overall clean up.  Primary job functions may include culinary prep work prior to the class, dishwashing during the class, and general clean-up after class end.

The ideal candidate will enjoy cooking (no professional culinary experience necessary) and have an outgoing personality.  Additionally, the position requires an exceptional and positive attitude, a friendly and professional demeanor, and comfort with guest interactions.   An ability to thrive within a team environment is key.   This is a year round position, 8-24 hours per week.   Availability requirements include afternoons, evenings, and weekends.  This position requires the associate to be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 15 pounds.

 

Spa Front Desk Associate

Aspira Spa is currently seeking friendly and professional individuals to join our team as a Spa Front Desk Associate. Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Greeting and checking spa guests in and out
  • Answering and managing multiple phone lines
  • Booking treatments, selling products and promoting spa services
  • Inputting and accessing information in our property management systems, point of sale systems and other computerized systems
  • Providing and ensuring positive and friendly guest relations
  • Providing information and assistance to guests, visitors and internal staff
  • Assisting in maintaining spa scheduling

Otto’s Line Cook - First Shift

The Osthoff Resort is seeking an experienced, culinary-focused individual to join our first shift team as a Line Cook in Otto's Restaurant.  Our Line Cooks are responsible for setting up cooking lines, stocking and organizing work stations, and maintaining a smooth flow of food preparation service during high-volume service hours.  Our culinary team both invites and encourages you to join their focus on creativity, flavor, and freshness as we strive to provide an exceptional and incredible dining experience for each and every one of our guests.

The successful candidate must have at least one year of experience preparing menu items to order, including experience working from a breakfast and lunch menu.  Prior Line Cook experience and a two-year culinary degree are desired, as are strong communication and organizational skills. Additionally, candidates should have strong knife skills and a good understanding of professional cooking techniques.

This is a part-time position, with hours dependant upon resort needs and guest occupancy.  A Serve Safe certification is required, along with a solid understanding of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.

Candidate must have a professional demeanor and exceptional culinary skills, as well as strong knife skills.  We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule and weekend availability. Bartender/Barista

The Osthoff Resort is currently hiring for Bartender/Barista roles for our Elk Room Lounge. Our Bartender/Barista position creates a friendly, relaxing and casual atmosphere while providing excellent service to our guests. The primary duties of this position will include:

  • Recommending, creating and serving alcoholic beverages, coffee, tea and other hot beverage service to our guests while also providing the service of light food selections.
  • Delivering a high level of service according to the standards of management and AAA Four Diamond Standards, ensuring guest satisfaction through their entire Elk Room Lounge experience
  • Fulfill guests order and input order into the point of sale system
  • Tender guests checks through the point of sale system
  • Complete daily duties as assigned

Applicants should have an outgoing and friendly personality with prior customer-service experience. Qualified candidates should be familiar with the latest in mixology methods, bar equipment, and sanitation standards with a emphasis on maintaining an attractive bar. Barista experience is a plus. Candidate must have the ability to obtain a bartending license. This job requires the individual to stand, walk, bend, reach forward and over the shoulder, and lift up to 50 pounds. Housekeeping House Person

The House Person position works in conjunction with our Housekeeping department and is responsible for collecting linens from the guest rooms and transporting them to our in-house laundry facility. They also remove waste from guest areas and transport to proper areas.  A background in customer service is preferred, as a House Person is responsible for contributing to The Osthoff Resort’s Housekeeping standards, which include delivering a high level of cleanliness within guest rooms according to the expectations of management and AAA Four Diamond Standards.

This position involves walking and standing, bending, kneeling, and the potential to lift up to 40 pounds.  Additionally, there is stair climbing involved.   This is a part time position, and the ideal candidate should be able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.  The ideal candidate should also have a flexible schedule, with daytime and weekend availability.

 

Summer Pleasure’s Bonfire Steward

The Osthoff Resort is hiring to fill the position of Bonfire Steward for the resort's Summer Pleasure’s activities program.  Bonfire Stewards will be responsible for overseeing scheduled group bonfires at the resort as well as hosting bonfires by special request.   The ideal candidate must be dependable and punctual, have the ability to work alone, be friendly and comfortable with groups of people.  Scheduling needs of the position require the qualified individual to offer both weeknight and weekend evening availability.

This position will require a mature individual to start fires using precut wood, paper and matches and oversee the bonfire area during resort hosted and group bonfires, which are locate at our Lakefront bonfire area.  Applicants should be familiar with starting and safely extinguishing outdoor fires.  This position may involve standing, walking, sitting, outward reaching, bending, and the ability to lift or carry up to 20 pounds.

 

Server - Otto's

The Osthoff Resort is seeking a efficient and customer focused individual to join our team as a part-time Restaurant Server in Otto's Restaurant, our casual dining restaurant located within The Osthoff Resort. As a Server, you will be interacting with guests:

  • Delivering a high level of service according to the standards of management and AAA Four Diamond Standards, ensuring guest satisfaction through their entire dining experience
  • Inform guests of menu offerings
  • Take guests order and input order into the point of sale system

Administrative Assistant

The Osthoff Resort is currently seeking a Full-time Administrative Assistant for the Executive Office.  This position will report to the General Manager and provide overall office assistance to The Executive Office.  The successful candidate will provide administrative support by handling information requests and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, and arranging travel, conference calls, and meetings.  General duties may also include opening, sorting, and distribution of incoming correspondence including mail, faxes, and emails.  Additionally, duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining a record management system, and performing basic bookkeeping work including preparation and processing of invoices, receipts, and other financial documentation. This position requires a very strong knowledge of office equipment that includes fax, copier, printer and scanning capability.  Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency is required.

Culinary Steward/Dishwasher

The Osthoff Resort is hiring to fill the position of Steward/Dishwasher.  Our Stewards are responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and sanitation of all dishes, pans, utensils, etc., as well as the entire work area according to resort, local, and state standards during high-volume service hours.  Stewards also assist the culinary staff with prep work and plating on occasion.  We are looking to fill steward positions both seasonally and year-round within all of our Culinary operations.

A Candidate for this position must be able to lift/carry and push/pull up to 40 pounds and work well in a team environment.  This position requires the associate to be on his or her feet for up to 8 hours each day and involves bending, lifting up to 40 pounds, walking, reaching , and kneeling.  This is a part time position, and the ideal candidate should be able to multi-task and work with others as well as independently within a fast-paced environment.  This position requires availability on weekdays and weekends. 

 

Massage Therapist

The Osthoff Resort is currently seeking individuals to join our professional team as a part-time Massage Therapist at the luxurious Aspira Spa. Our spa offers specialized spa treatments, personalized to reflect ancient healing wisdoms, in addition to a full menu of traditional treatments for our guests’ complete spa experience.  Qualified candidates should have a professional demeanor with proven skills in customer service, and must be licensed in the state of Wisconsin. Spa Concierge

Aspira Spa is currently seeking friendly, professional individuals to join our team as a Spa Concierge Associate. Responsibilities of this position include:

The Osthoff Resort is looking for  individuals to join our Housekeeping department at our ultra modern and state of the art in-house laundry facility.  The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the cleaning, pressing, and folding of all in-house linens, which include our food and beverage departments, spa, poolside, and guest linen needs. 

This position requires the associate to be on his or her feet for up to 8 hours each day, and includes standing and walking.  Physicality requirements include reaching outward and above the shoulders, as well as the ability to squat, kneel, and bend.  Additionally, there may be lifting and pushing of up to 30 pounds.  Candidates will be working with commercial laundry equipment, which includes folding and pressing equipment.

This position is within in a fast-paced environment, and working well with others is a necessity.  The ideal candidate would have a positive attitude with a comfort level and ability to make quick decisions, and multi-task while working independently.  The position requires availability weekdays and weekends.

 

Cosmetologist

Aspira Spa is currently seeking an experienced Cosmetologist preferably with clientele, whom is open and motivated to expand their business. Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Performing individualized cuts, hairstyles, colors and treatments for guests
