The Osthoff Resort currently has the following full-time and part-time employment opportunities available at our Four Diamond Resort, located on beautiful Elkhart Lake.


Accounting
  • Accounting Clerk
    • Job Responsibilities:

      • Perform functions necessary to summarize daily cash and revenue transactions for the resort using information supplied by all resort departments, outlets, and the night audit personnel.  Outlets include:
      • Restaurants, Room Service, and Lounge
      • Spa Café
      • Spa
      • Gift Shop
      • Spa Gift Shop
      • Arcades/Vending
      • Prepare monthly journal entries to record resort activities.
      • Perform account reconciliations and analysis.
      • Monthly – count resort cash on hand.
      • Resolve Credit Card disputes.
      • Make gift certificates (weekly).
      • Perform backup responsibilities to Accounting Clerk – Accounts Receivable/Group Sales.
      • Perform backup responsibilities to Accounts Payable.
      • Assist with mapping of accounts, testing, and automation of daily revenue transactions from interfaced applications.
      • Once daily revenue transactions are more automated, additional job responsibilities will be added, including Purchase Order processing and other process improvements.
      • Other duties as assigned. 

      Qualifications (Required):

      • Two-year Accounting or Finance degree.
      • Computer proficiency in a Microsoft® Windows environment.
      • Experience using Microsoft® Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access).
      • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently or within a team.

  • Controller
    • The Osthoff Condominium Association (OCA) is seeking a Controller to oversee day-to-day financial operations, supervise the staff of the finance/accounting department, prepare appropriate reports and analysis, support for our condominium association as well as the Osthoff Management Corp. (OMC) and Osthoff North Development Corp. (ONDC).

      DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Manage the Osthoff Condominium Association Accounting Department. Coordinate responsibilities, including back-up capabilities to ensure adequate support.
      • Approve all Journal Entries between Osthoff Condominium Association (OCA) and Osthoff Management Corporation (OMC) for uploading and entry into Microsoft Great Plains General Ledger.
      • Approve all other OCA / OMC monthly Journal Entries for uploading and entry into Microsoft Great Plains General Ledger.
      • Prepare and review monthly financial statements for OCA / OMC, based on Microsoft Great Plains Accounting System, providing highlights and P&Ls.
      • Assist with preparation of annual budget for The Osthoff (Condominium Association, Management Corporation, Realty and North Development Corporation).
      • Update monthly rolling operating forecasts and provide financial results for Board of Directors and management staff.
      • Approve all check payments made from OCA and OMC Operating Accounts before payments are mailed or sent via EFT.
      • As needed, provide assistance to department directors/managers in the interpretation of financial data. Utilize reports to ensure variances to budgets are identified and rectified.
      • Review major forecast budget variances and provide explanations to OCA Finance/Audit Committee and OCA / OMC Board.
      • Update the Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual for all updates as approved. Ensure documentation of the proper accounting of OMC and OCA Capital Expenditures vs. Operating Expenses, and when funds are to be used from the OCA or OMC Reserve Fund.
      • Audit and assess internal controls and processes at the Osthoff Resort and ensure consistent application of accounting policies across all departments, including new processes to address audit opportunities.
      • Ensure use of Great Plains PO module with proper match prior to invoice payment; appropriate cash flow monitoring per open POs, RFQs and RFPs submitted per accounting policy, approvals of POs per accounting policy.
      • Monitor and approve physical or monthly inventory counts.
      • Monitor credit card purchases / limits / approvals.
      • Banking RFPs reviewed and issued to ensure best value for owners (Minimum every 3 years).
      • Attend OCA Board and Finance / Audit meetings.
      • Allocate all overhead (salaries, benefits, bonuses, maintenance, grounds, taxes, utilities, etc.) so that there is a 100% allocation. Also evaluate any other expenses to be charged as appropriate. P&L Statements for OMC outlets can be created in Microsoft Excel from Microsoft Great Plains financial data. Highlight variances and corrective action. Also present Osthoff Resort Realty (ORR) update of sales, listings, etc.
      • Create a monthly and YTD report layout for new reporting including proper accounting of the outlets. Report to be written by either IT staff or outside consultant. Review created report for accuracy before publishing. Document Monthly and YTD Outlet P&L Reporting process in Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual.
      • Create a Period 13 Year-End Process to true up OCA allocations from OMC, based upon actual expenses. Document Period 13 Year-End Process in Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual.
      • Create Asset Tags for all OCA Assets and tag all assets so that they can be properly accounted for annually, and to prepare for implementation of Fixed Asset Module in Microsoft Great Plains. Document changes to Fixed Asset process in Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual. Validate remaining useful life with input from outside firm.
      • Create Monthly and YTD Financial Statement report layout for Osthoff Resort Realty (ORR). Provide Monthly and YTD ORR Financial Statement in Microsoft Excel until IT Staff or outside consultant can create the report in Microsoft Great Plains. Document ORR Financial Statement reporting in Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual.
      • Monthly audit of bank statements and adjustments.
      • Implement a Disaster Recovery Plan for accounting processes and documentation to ensure on-going business capability.
      • Serve as a non-voting member of the Finance / Audit Committee.
      • Other Accounting and Finance duties, as assigned.

      Position Requirements:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
      • Certified Public Accountant.
      • Strong Accounting Application Systems skills.
      • Excellent leadership, analytical, project management, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
      • In depth knowledge of US accounting principles (FASB).
      • 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience consisting of working for a public accounting firm, followed by Accounting work with Accounting Applications, and/or consulting work with Accounting/HR/Payroll Applications.
      • Prior Finance Director/Controller experience preferred.
      • Great Plains Software knowledge and report writing a plus.

Osthoff Resort Realty
  • Licensed Real Estate Broker
    • Osthoff Resort Realty is seeking a part-time, Licensed Real Estate Broker who has experience and a passion for selling, while establishing a rapport with current and future customers. This Broker is the exclusive Broker for Osthoff Resort Realty and focuses solely on the sales of condominiums within The Osthoff Resort. This position requires 25-30 hours per week and offers a base pay as well as generous commission on unit sales. Qualified candidates must have and maintain a valid State of Wisconsin Real Estate Broker license, and have several years of experience as a successful real estate salesperson.

      Osthoff Resort Realty is a subsidiary of Osthoff Condominium Association, Inc, at The Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Osthoff Resort Realty LLC is the in-house Real Estate Brokerage firm for condominium sales within The Osthoff Resort. The Broker sells condominiums, not timeshares. This is a rare opportunity as this position provides the ability to have a captive audience of condo owners and prospective condo buyers under one roof. In addition, this individual would be hired on as an employee and provided necessary tools to accomplish the role, such as office space, equipment and a marketing budget.

Aspira Spa
  • Cosmetologist
    • The Aspira Spa within The Osthoff Resort is currently seeking experienced, part-time Cosmetologists with an exceptional focus on guest service. Responsibilities of this position include providing various salon services including haircuts, color treatments, styling services, manicures, and pedicures designed to provide a customized service for our guests within a team environment.

      Qualified candidates must be currently licensed by the State of Wisconsin's Cosmetology Board, have a professional demeanor, and consistently offer the highest level of personalized service while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and helpful attitude. A comfort level with selling salon products and promoting spa services is an essential function of this position along with the ability to assist with maintaining overall appointment scheduling. This position requires the individual to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, and weekends. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, bend, reach forward, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Evening Spa Laundry Attendant
    • Aspira Spa is currently hiring a friendly, efficient, and detail-oriented individual as a Spa Laundry Attendant/Housekeeper. This individual will provide clean linens throughout the spa and to maintain deep cleaning within the spa treatment rooms.

      Our Laundry Attendant/Housekeeper is responsible for sorting, loading/unloading, and folding spa linens. He or she will also monitor inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to Lead Concierge, maintain all laundry equipment and inform Spa Director as to any maintenance needs, and perform additional laundry services when necessary.

      In addition, the Laundry Attendant/Housekeeper will deep clean and arrange treatment rooms to Aspira Spa standards, including cleaning and checking common areas of the spa.

      Qualified candidates will:

  • Massage Therapist
    • Join our professional team as a part-time Massage Therapist at the award-winning, full service Aspira Spa, located within The Osthoff Resort. This Position requires the ability to provide a complete range of traditional and signature massage and body treatments which are designed to soothe the mind, body, and soul. Massage therapists must embrace and understand the benefits of massage therapy and provide our guests with an exceptional guest experience. Candidates must have a professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively. Additionally, the ideal candidate will offer flexible availability. Must be licensed to practice in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Spa Concierge Associate
    • The Aspira Spa within The Osthoff Resort is currently seeking a customer-orientated individual to join our team as a Concierge Associate. We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, and exceptional customer service skills. Responsibilities of this position include greeting clients, promoting and explaining spa services and retail products to clients, embracing and promoting the Aspira Spa philosophy and culture through tours and rituals, attending to guests and their needs, light maintenance and housekeeping of spa and working within a team environment. Qualified candidates must have a flexible schedule including day, evening and weekend hours, a strong customer service orientation, and computer skills are required. Candidates must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
Culinary
  • Banquet Line Cook
    • The Osthoff Resort is seeking an experienced, service–focused individual to join our team as a Banquet Line Cook in the Banquet Kitchen. Our Line Cooks are responsible for slicing, chopping, grilling, searing, and plating food items as well as stocking and organizing work stations, and maintaining a smooth flow of service during high-volume dining times. Qualified candidates must have at least one year of food service experience and strong knife skills. An ideal individual would have, or be seeking a culinary degree. Strong communication and organizational skills are also strongly desired. This is a part-time position covering primarily weekend evenings.
  • Dishwasher/Steward
    • The Osthoff Resort is hiring to fill the position of Steward/Dishwasher. Our Stewards are responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and sanitation of all dishes, pans, utensils, etc., as well as the entire work area according to resort, local, and state standards during high-volume service hours. Stewards also assist the culinary staff with prep work and plating on occasion. 

      A Candidate for this position must be able to lift/carry and push/pull up to 40 pounds and work well in a team environment. This position requires the associate to be on his or her feet for up to 8 hours each day and involves bending, lifting up to 40 pounds, walking, reaching , and kneeling. This is a part time position, and the ideal candidate should be able to multi-task and work with others as well as independently within a fast-paced environment. This position requires availability on weekdays and weekends.
  • Lola's Line Cook
    • The Osthoff Resort is seeking an experienced, culinary-focused individual to join our team as a Line Cook in Lola's on the Lake. Our Line Cooks are responsible for setting up cooking lines, stocking and organizing work stations, and maintaining a smooth flow of service during high-volume service hours. Candidate must have at least one year of experience preparing menu items to order, with a focus on plating and presentation. Prior Line experience is required. Strong communication and organizational skills are also strongly desired. Successful candidates should have experience setting up cooking lines, stocking, and organizing work stations for lunch service, as well as, a flexible schedule with daytime, evening, and weekend availability.
  • Otto’s Line Cook
    • The Osthoff Resort is seeking an experienced, service–focused individual to join our team as a daytime Line Cook in Otto’s Restaurant. Our Line Cooks are responsible for preparing a’la carte menu items, setting up cooking lines, stocking and organizing work stations, and maintaining a smooth flow of service during high-volume dining times. Qualified candidates must have at least six months of prior line experience working in a dining establishment. A culinary degree and ServSafe certification are preferred, but not required. Strong communication and organizational skills are also strongly desired. This is a part-time position, and candidates must be able to work 32 hours per week covering various shifts on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Otto’s Prep Cook
    • The Osthoff Resort is seeking an experienced, service–focused individual to join our team as a Prep Cook in our Otto’s Restaurant. Our Prep Cooks are responsible for the preparation of our a’la carte menu items, chopping, cutting or grinding meat, weighing and mixing ingredients, washing and preparing vegetables. The Otto’s Prep Cook will report to our Otto’s line cooks and will assist with plating on occasion.

      Qualified candidates must have one year of prior cooking experience working in a casual dining establishment, and one year preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner items in a high-volume kitchen. A culinary degree and ServSafe certification is preferred, but not required. Strong communication and organizational skills are also strongly desired. An ideal individual would have, or be seeking a culinary degree, and have a flexible schedule with day, evening and weekend availability.
  • Pastry Chef
    • The Osthoff Resort is currently seeking a qualified individual to join our culinary staff as the Pastry Chef. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef and will be responsible for managing and executing the daily culinary operations and production of the Pastry Kitchen. This position will supervise and support the pastry kitchen operation and production, mentor kitchen staff, schedule, and have a hands on involvement with preparation and execution of each hand scratched product while ensuring and maintaining inventory control, food/labor costs, and kitchen sanitation within a high volume kitchen.

      Qualified candidates must have a culinary degree with a minimum of five years varied and progressive experience in Pastry, including menu planning, recipe development and costing. Candidate must be highly organized, an effective communicator, a strong leader, and must have a flexible schedule. The Pastry Chef position is a full-time position, which includes eligibility for our complete benefit package, as well as resort-wide usage benefits.
Restaurants, Banquets & Bars
  • Banquet Server
    • The Osthoff Resort is currently seeking efficient, talented, and guest focused individuals to join our team as a Banquet Server. As a Banquet Server, you will deliver a high level of banquet service according to standards of management and AAA Four Diamond Standards. Our Banquet Servers will execute a high caliber of service to clients before, during, and after banquet functions including preparing and set up of function, service and bussing of function, and proper cleaning, sanitation, and return of all equipment after functions are completed.

      Qualified candidates must have customer service experience and the ability to demonstrate initiative and maintain professional demeanor. Banquet service and/or serving experience is preferred. The ideal candidate should have a flexible schedule with daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday availability.
  • Bartenders
    • The Osthoff Resort is seeking an experienced bartender to join our team at the Elkhart Inn, Otto's Restaurant and Lola's on the Lake. Our Bartenders are responsible for providing excellent beverage service to our guests while fostering a relaxing atmosphere. Position requires the ability to interact with guests, while efficiently taking orders, and serving food and drinks. In addition, position will be responsible maintaining a clean bar and for restocking and replenishing of bar inventory and supplies including glassware, liquor, beer, wine and cut fruit and garnishes. Qualified candidates for this position should have prior bartending experience and excellent knowledge of wines and wine service, beer, and mixed drinks. Exceptional customer-service skills and an outgoing personality are required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, and able to obtain a license to serve alcohol. The ideal candidate should have a flexible schedule.

    • The Osthoff Resort is currently seeking an efficient, customer-orientated individual to join our team as a Busser within our Restaurants. Our Bussers are responsible for maintaining the dining area; clearing and resetting tables and taking dishes to the kitchen area. The restaurant Busser stocks bus stations, cleans glassware, and refills drinks. This person must have good communication skills as well as the ability to stand and walk for a period of up to 8 hours, as well as the ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds. An ideal individual would have a flexible schedule with day, evening and weekend availability, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Restaurant Host/Hostess
    • The Osthoff Resort is seeking a service-orientated individual to join our team as a Host/Hostess within our Restaurants. We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and exceptional customer service skills. The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting customers in a friendly manner and escorting guests to tables as well as monitoring guest needs. Qualified candidates must have the ability to work day, evening and weekend availability, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to multi-task.

Front Desk & Guest Services
  • Bell Attendant
    • The Osthoff Resort is seeking a customer-service focused individual to join our team as a member of our Bell Attendant Staff. Our Bell Attendant’s work together with the Front Desk to ensure our guests receive hospitable, AAA Four Diamond service upon arrival, at check out, and throughout their entire stay. Eligible candidates should possess excellent customer service skills, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and have a valid driver’s license. This is an year-round position with our resort which includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Front Desk Associate
    • The Osthoff Resort is seeking a friendly, professional, and guest focused individual to join our team as a Front Desk Associate. The Front Desk Associate is responsible for providing AAA Four-Diamond guest service. Responsibilities include checking guests in and out, making resort reservations, cash handling, and answering phones.

      The ideal candidate should have a high degree of professionalism, strong customer service skills as well as a flexible schedule with daytime, evening, and weekend availability. Previous Front Desk Service experience is ideal, but not required. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and sit for a period of up to eight hours in addition to occasional reaching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Reservation Sales Associate
    • The Osthoff Resort is currently seeking a part-time Reservation Sales Associate. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, and exceptional customer service skills. Responsibilities of this position include assisting the Reservation Manager with group contracts, coordinating group room reservations with group contacts and working with the Front Office department to assist in reservations and occasional front desk duties. This position will also work very closely with all aspects of the resort.

      Qualified candidates must be proficient with the computer, detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and should be knowledgeable of the local area. Our Reservation Associate will answer guest’s questions and describe the rooms, amenities, and rates while assisting the guest in booking their resort reservation. The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships both with internal and external customers, assist in managing all reservation sales activities to maximize revenue potential for the resort and implement and maintain quality standards for the Reservations Department. An ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule with daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday availability.
Housekeeping & Laundry
  • Closet Stocker
    • The Osthoff Resort is seeking friendly, efficient, detail-oriented, and guest focused individual to join our Housekeeping team as a Closet Stocker! The Closet Stocker is responsible for transporting and stocking clean linens from our Laundry department to our housekeeping closets. As a Closet Stocker you will help with simple tasks in our laundry department, and assist with folding, sorting and ironing linens. This position requires the associate to be on his or her feet for up to 8 hours, involves bending and lifting up to 50 pounds, ascending and descending stairs, and kneeling. This is a part-time position, and the ideal candidate should be able to multi-task and work with others, as well as independently, within a fast-paced environment. Qualified candidates must be available to work a varied schedule including days, nights, and weekends.
  • Houseperson
    • The Osthoff Resort is seeking friendly, efficient, detail-oriented, and guest focused individual to join our team as a Houseperson. This is a part time position, and the Houseperson position is responsible for making beds, working on miscellaneous tasks, handling trash, collecting and transporting linens to our in-house laundry facility, maintaining the cleanliness of an assigned area within the Resort and training new associates. This position requires the associate to be on his or her feet for up to 8 hours each day, and involves bending and lifting up to 50 pounds, ascending and descending stairs, and kneeling.

      The ideal candidate for this position should be able to multi-task, and work with others, as well as independently, within a fast-paced environment. Qualified candidates must have a flexible schedule with day and weekend availability.
  • Housekeeping Supervisor
    • The Osthoff Resort is seeking a friendly, efficient, detail-oriented, and guest focused individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Supervisor. The Housekeeping Supervisor will train and monitor all Room Attendants, inspect clean rooms, monitor the operations of designated areas, answer radio calls, and deep clean rooms as needed.

      An ideal candidate will uphold our AAA Four Diamond Housekeeping standards, which include delivering a high level of cleanliness within guest rooms in accordance to the expectations of management, and have weekend availability.
